Winter Hair care: 5 Tips for Healthy
Hair and Scalp

Winter is a dreaded period for many in which the cold wild winter and low temperature zap the moisture out from your skin and hair. Consequently, hair becomes frizzy and dry. But do not let your hair suffer because of the chill weather of winter. Here I have curated some simple hacks to protect your hair and make it healthy.

Oil your hair regularly:

Ayurveda recommends oiling your hair almost every day should be part of your daily routine. However, it is not possible for everyone in today’s life, you should oil your hair at least twice a week. If you do not like to oil your hair then you should oil it before you plan to wash it. Regular oiling reduces hygral fatigue, prevents your hair become dry, and makes your scalp healthier. Hair oil nourishes your hair, prevents hair fall and dandruff, and strengthens hair roots. In addition, it also eliminates bacterial and anti-fungal infections.

Change the hair-washing method:

Overuse of shampoo can strip protective oils as well as essential moisture. So, wash your hair limited time and avoid strong shampoo. Use a hair shampoo that is suitable for your hair and scalp type. Avoid back-and-forth strokes while washing your hair to prevent the tangling and breaking of your hair. Do not wash your hair using the extra hot water as it absorbs all the moisture from your hair and makes your hair dry. You can wash your hair using lukewarm water but pouring the water having room temperature at some last rinse prevent the scalp to loosen flakes.

Don’t skip conditioning your hair:

Many busy people skip the very essential step of conditioning hair after hair wash. This is a very important step to moisturize your hair and protect the outermost layer of your hair. Consequently, your hair looks shiny. Furthermore, a Hair conditioner prevents your hair become frizzy. Conditioners having cetyl alcohol and Cetearyl alcohol work as great moisturizers for your hair.

Don’t leave your hair without oil after washing:

Don’t leave your hair wet for a long time after washing your hair. Drying your hair in the winter season seems like a big task. But keeping your hair wet increases the chances of hair breakage and tangling. Do not rub your hair using a towel harshly to dry your hair as it also causes more damage. You should dry it using the air/fan before stepping out.

Take a healthy diet:

Take a protein contains diet such as cashews, almonds, and pumpkin seeds as it makes your tresses stronger and healthier from the inside. It not only decreases the prone of breakage but also makes your hair shiner and controls frizz. Drink an adequate amount of water to keep your hair hydrated.

Wrapping Up:

Just like winter affect the skin; the cold wild of winter makes your hair dry, rough, and frizzy but little care can help you replenish moisturizer in your hair. Using these easy-to-follow tips, we hope you are able to flaunt healthier and shiner hair.
